There is no formal framework for cultural cooperation with the Netherlands. The embassy focuses on promotion in Syria of cultural activities with a Dutch accent.

Netherlands Institute for Academic Studies in Damascus

The Netherlands Institute for Academic Studies in Damascus (NIASD) was reestablished in 2006. It is a Dutch foundation which aims to advance and maintain academic relations between syria and the Netherlands. In addition, it is also active in the field of culture and international cooperation.
